Antonym Global Publishing

AGP

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 1 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Antonym Global Publishing ("AGP," "we," "our," "us") website and your dealings with us as a rights holder, author, translator, publisher, bookseller, or trade partner. Using this site, submitting a title, or entering into an agreement with us means you accept the terms set out below. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, contact us prior to proceeding.

1. Who We Are

Antonym Global Publishing's work spans publishing, translation, rights exchange, and cross-border partnerships, anchored first in the exchange between Indian languages, English, and Spanish, and growing outward from there — collaborating with foreign publishers from Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Italy among others.

2. Services Provided

AGP's work covers:

  • Acquiring and licensing literary rights
  • Trade sales and distribution
  • Translation and multi-language publishing
  • Building international partnerships and new markets
  • Facilitating inbound grants and translation support
  • Running events, residencies, and literary programmes

3. Titles, Submissions & Agreements

When you send us a title, manuscript, or rights enquiry — whether you're an author, translator, or publishing house:

  • Your submission should follow whatever process we've set out for that channel (Rights, Trade, or direct enquiry).
  • Sending something to us starts a conversation; it doesn't obligate AGP to acquire, license, or represent it, and we can't promise a response by any set date.
  • In submitting material, you're confirming that you hold the rights to it, or have proper authority to license it on the rights holder's behalf.
  • No license, distribution deal, or representation is binding until set out in a signed agreement. Until then, AGP may decline any submission, proposal, or partnership without reason.

4. Ownership of Content & Rights

Content on this website — listings, descriptions, artwork, branding — belongs to AGP or the partner houses we represent, protected under applicable copyright law.

Submitting a manuscript or title doesn't transfer ownership; rights stay with the author, translator, or rights holder. It only grants AGP permission to review, present, and negotiate on your behalf under an active agreement.

Jacket images and title details remain the property of their rights holders, shown here solely to represent the work to prospective partners.

5. How Payment Works

  • There's no fixed advance structure — every deal is negotiated on its own terms.
  • Royalties run on net receipts from print editions, agreed individually for each title.
  • Income from subsidiary rights (audio, digital, dramatic or screen adaptation, translation, and so on) is split according to whatever the specific agreement says.
  • Short excerpts used for promotion aren't compensated separately.
  • If a piece of work calls for a consulting fee or other charge outside the standard arrangement, that gets agreed in writing before we start.

6. Handling Confidential & Personal Information

We keep manuscripts, unpublished titles, and related business details confidential, sharing them only as needed to evaluate a submission or pursue a deal on your behalf.

Separately, when you contact us — a rights enquiry, trade order, or general message — we collect the personal details you provide (name, organisation, territory, email, etc.) to respond and act on your request. We don't sell this information, and only share it where necessary (e.g., introducing a rights enquiry to a partner publisher), with your consent, or as required by law.

We also automatically collect basic technical data (browser type, pages viewed, time spent) to keep the site running smoothly. This section covers the essentials; a fuller Privacy Policy, addressing things like cookie use and how long data is kept, is available below.

7. What We're Not Responsible For

Working with AGP doesn't come with a promise of publication, a signed licence, a sale, or any particular commercial result — submissions and enquiries are evaluated on their merits, and outcomes vary. We also can't take responsibility for losses connected to your use of this site, or to dealings with third parties — partner publishers, trade accounts, and the like — that we've helped facilitate. Where this site links out to other websites, those sites operate independently of us, and we don't answer for their content or practices.

8. Ending an Arrangement

If a rights holder, author, translator, or trade partner breaches the terms of their agreement with us, or acts in a way we consider unethical, AGP can end that arrangement. Equally, anyone working with us can bring their engagement to a close on the terms set out in their own agreement.

9. Jurisdiction

These Terms sit under the laws of the United States of America, and any dispute arising from them would be handled in the courts of the State of Florida, United States of America, unless otherwise stated.

10. Updates to This Page

These Terms may change as our work evolves. Updates apply once posted, so check back occasionally.
