Antonym Collections is an independent publishing house with a special focus on literary translation. We publish writing that travels across languages and cultures, bringing distinctive voices from different literary traditions to readers in English and beyond.

The Antonym is an internationally recognised literary magazine dedicated to translation and multilingual literature. Based in Kolkata, India, it publishes original translations, creative writing, essays, interviews, and visual narratives that connect readers with voices from diverse cultures and languages across the world.

ACGAL
ACGAL is a non-profit organization devoted to the movement of literature across languages, cultures, geographies, and generations. ACGAL brings together writers, translators, translation initiatives, residencies, publishing programmes, and literary encounters to create spaces in which literature can cross borders.

River of Words is one of the newest and most resonant initiatives from the Antonym Council of Global Arts and Literature — a festival built around a single, endlessly generative image: the river.

Ediciones del Lirio — Mexico
In Mexico, Antonym Global Publishing has forged a collaboration with Ediciones del Lirio, a Mexico City-based publishing house with roots stretching back to the late 1990s, with a catalog spanning literature, poetry, and essays, and a track record of engaging international audiences through platforms like the Frankfurt Book Fair and Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara.
Oveja Negra — Colombia
In Colombia, AGP partners with Editorial La Oveja Negra, one of Latin America's most storied independent publishing houses. Founded in Medellín in 1968 and now based in Bogotá, Oveja Negra has built one of the largest catalogs in Colombian publishing history — over two thousand titles.
National Book Trust — New Delhi
Antonym Global Publishing is thrilled to join hands with the National Book Trust (NBT), New Delhi, in a groundbreaking collaboration to introduce Indian books to the vibrant Mexican market, building a literary bridge between India and Latin America.
Balihans — Bangladesh
Antonym Global Publishing's collaboration with Balihans marks a significant step in building literary bridges between India and Bangladesh, bringing together Antonym's Bengali and English children's catalogue with Balihans' publishing and distribution strength in Bangladesh.
Xako Publication — Assam
Xako Publication is a translation-focused publishing house based in Assam, dedicated to bringing Northeast India's rich literary heritage to national and global audiences. A subsidiary of The Antonym Collections, Kolkata, Xako retains full creative autonomy with an exclusive focus on the Northeast.
Banglanatok.com — West Bengal
Antonym Council of Global Arts and Literature (ACGAL) and banglanatak dot com (i-land informatics Limited) collaborate on jointly developing and publishing books documenting folk arts, crafts, traditional lifestyles, ecology, and the knowledge of practitioners.
