Hadik

Saikat Rakshit

In a remote village on the fringes of Bengal, where humans and pigs share not only a space but also a blurred identity, the Sahish community lives—as wild as their swine. Bound by poverty and survival, they chase pigs across scorching fields, their lean frames etched with labor and sunburnt resolve. Yet, even amidst their trials and tribulations, the Sahishes stand firm, embodying their marginalized community’s resilience and desperation. Through the lens of their daily struggles, this narrative vividly portrays the lives of the Hadis, a community relegated to society’s periphery. From the relentless cycles of hunger to the primal bond between humans and animals, this story captures the raw humanity and resilience of those forced to navigate a world that often denies their existence. A poignant exploration of identity, survival, and the enduring spirit of a people striving to reclaim their place, “Hadik” is as much a critique of societal neglect as it is a testament to unyielding human dignity
