Behçet Necatigil
A tribute to Turkish poet Behçet Necatigil, whose bold, deeply thoughtful poetry guided generations and stood as a beacon for modern Turkish literature.
Behçet Necatigil wrote an intense poetry without once watering his ink down. And while his measure of wisdom never lessened, he grew ever more audacious as he moved from book to book. In the impact he had on the younger generations, he was far more than just the “Zebra;”, and was, in fact, a powerful lighthouse for those poets who were afraid of losing their way.
