Ganju Lama, VC; Sikkim’s Hero in War and Peace

বিবরণ

The exact turn of events that led Gyamtso to flee home is a bit of a mystery. But one thing is certain: he left suddenly and secretly, without even saying goodbye or packing his bags. In no time, the young man from Sikkim was in Burma fighting in the world’s biggest war. This remarkable biography chronicles Gyamtso Shangderpa’s transformation from an ordinary village boy to the legendary war hero, Ganju Lama VC. He is the only Indian Gurkha soldier to be awarded with the Victoria Cross, the highest honour given by the British to members of the armed forces for extraordinary bravery. Yet, Ganju Lama’s story is about more than just wartime valour. It is a deeper narrative of resilience, sense of duty, and the power of the human spirit. “A wonderful initiative of Foothills Publishing, starting with Anuradha Sharma’s book on Ganju Lama, masterfully illustrated by Pankaj Thapa.” -MAMANG DAI, Padma Shri, poet and novelist “A thrilling, heartwarming read that uncovers forgotten voices from history and inspires readers to trust their own strength.” – ANURIMA CHANDA, children’s author “Anuradha Sharma has diligently put this lovely book together.
